The funding will go to Armour, Carling, Joly, Magnetawan and Strong townships
MPP Graydon Smith says the Ontario government is providing $2.6 million in disaster recovery funding to five municipalities in the Almaguin Highlands.
Smith made the announcement in Magnetawan, saying the funding will go to Armour, Carling, Joly, Magnetawan and Strong.
The money will help cover emergency response costs and repairs to critical infrastructure following flooding in July 2025.
Smith says the funding, provided through Ontario’s Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance program, will help communities rebuild while keeping workers on the job and residents safe.
