A 31-year-old Mississauga man has died following a canoe accident on Stewart Lake in Georgian Bay Township.
Bracebridge OPP were called shortly after 8 Saturday night after a canoe carrying two people overturned about 40 feet from shore. One person was rescued by a passing boater, but the second went underwater and did not resurface.
Emergency crews searched the lake through the night, with the OPP's underwater search unit assisting. The man's body was located Sunday.
