Nearly half of patients wait 30 mins to get into the hospital
Muskoka Paramedic Services says it met or exceeded provincial response time targets in 2025, according to a new report to District committees.
However, officials also flagged ongoing hospital offload delays, with nearly half of patients at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital waiting more than 30 minutes before paramedics could transfer care, reducing ambulance availability in the community.
The service says it is adjusting deployment strategies and adding resources, including a new daytime ambulance planned for East Muskoka in 2026, to help improve coverage and response capacity.
