The investments will help businesses expand and move a housing project forward
The federal government is investing more than one-point-seven million dollars in five economic development projects across the Parry Sound-Muskoka area.
FedNor says the funding will help local manufacturers adopt new technology, expand production and develop new products, while also supporting housing development.
Lofthouse Manufacturing, Muskoka Aurora, Keystone Granite Management and Connor Industries are among the businesses receiving funding. The Muskoka Community Land Trust will use its investment to help move housing projects toward construction.
The projects are expected to create 16 full-time jobs and strengthen the regional economy.
