Five families have been displaced by the fire
The Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Dept. gave an update on a major fire in Huntsville that destroyed two residential buildings on West Street South Wednesday morning.
Crews from three Huntsville/Lake of Bays fire stations responded with 40 firefighters and 11 trucks, battling heavy flames for more than eight hours.
The Fire Dept. says that all the residents made it out safely, with firefighters helping two people escape.
No injuries were reported, but a triplex and a duplex were lost. Victim Services Muskoka is assisting displaced residents.
Investigators say the fire started outside the home, but the exact cause could not be determined.
