This year's flood levels are comparable to the floods in 2019
A flood warning remains in effect across much of the region until April 29th, with residents being urged to stay alert as water levels remain high.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the warning covers the Bracebridge–Minden–Parry Sound District, including parts of Muskoka, Parry Sound, and Haliburton, with all major watersheds impacted.
Officials say some areas are already seeing water levels comparable to those in 2019, raising the risk of localized flooding and damage to infrastructure. While conditions may begin to stabilize in some locations over the coming days, flooding can still happen quickly with little warning.
Residents in low-lying or flood-prone areas are being advised to protect vulnerable property and closely monitor conditions, while avoiding fast-moving water, unstable banks, and unsafe ice.
The MNR says it will continue to track conditions and provide updates as needed.
