Maynard was with the Fire Dept for 30 years and knows the municipality well
A new candidate is stepping into the municipal race in Lake of Bays. Glen Maynard has announced his intention to run for the McLean Ward councillor seat in the upcoming township election.
Maynard says he has lived in Baysville for most of his adult life, operated a local business for 20 years, and worked for 28 years as a bus company dispatcher. His community involvement includes decades with the Baysville Fire Department, where he served nearly 30 years and held the role of Station Chief.
Now retired, Maynard says he decided to run due to growing development pressures in the township and a desire to bring a strong local voice to council. He adds that his long experience living and working in the area gives him a strong understanding of McLean Ward and Lake of Bays issues.
