The initiative helps reduce energy costs and supports wildlife habitat
Gravenhurst residents are being encouraged to participate in the town’s native tree and shrub sale, with an emphasis on planting species that are well-suited to the local environment. The initiative is designed to promote environmental sustainability while also offering practical benefits for homeowners.
The town says that by planting native trees and shrubs on your property, you can help reduce pollution, provide shade, lower energy costs, enhance property value, and support local wildlife habitat. The program also aims to improve the overall appearance of the community.
The deadline to submit orders is Monday, April 28th. A full list of available species and order forms can be found on the town’s website.
