The Mary Lake Association came to council to highlight erosion issues at the boat launch parking lot
The Town of Huntsville and the Mary Lake Association completed shoreline protection work at the Port Sydney Beach parking lot to prevent future erosion.
Town crews placed river rock along the shoreline and installed boulders to hold it in place, using materials donated by the Mary Lake Association.
The project followed a presentation earlier this year from the association and the Muskoka Watershed Council, which highlighted damage caused by vehicles parking too close to the water.
Vegetation will be added in the spring to strengthen the shoreline, ensuring the parking lot remains usable while protecting the natural environment.
