The cause of the smoke is under investigation
Fire crews responded to a reported structure fire Monday afternoon at a retirement residence on Legacy Lane in Huntsville. Units from three fire stations arrived to find light haze on the second floor but no active fire.
Fifteen firefighters, along with Huntsville OPP and Muskoka Paramedics, assisted in checking the building and ventilating the affected unit. The alarm was reset, and an alarm technician is scheduled to inspect the system.
Fire officials say last year’s inspection and regular drills helped ensure a fast and effective response. The cause of the smoke is still under investigation.
