The detachment conducted 102 RIDE Checks
Huntsville OPP are calling the 2025 Festive RIDE campaign a success.
Police report that from November 20 through January 2, officers conducted 102 RIDE checkpoints across the community. During that time, police laid 14 impaired or criminal driving charges, eight Highway Traffic Act charges, and one criminal charge for a stolen vehicle.
While the Festive RIDE program runs during the holidays, police stress that safe and sober driving is a year-round responsibility. Residents are also reminded to call police if they suspect an impaired driver.
