Police were alerted after a woman tried to deposit a cheque that belonged to a 101-year-old man
Huntsville OPP have charged a 45-year-old local woman following an investigation into fraud targeting a 101-year-old resident.
Police say a bank was alerted on May 21 after a suspicious cheque was attempted for deposit and was later confirmed to have belonged to the elderly victim.
As a result of the investigation, Crystal Shambrook of Huntsville faces charges of fraud under $5,000 and obtaining by false pretence. She is scheduled to appear in Bracebridge court in July.
