The new by-law is a spin off of the old property standards by-law
Residents in the Township of Lake of Bays are being asked to weigh in on a revised draft of the municipality’s proposed Clean Yards By-law.
Township staff have released the updated version for public review ahead of the April 14 council meeting. Officials say the by-law itself doesn’t introduce new rules, but instead moves yard maintenance standards that have been in place since 2018 under the Property Standards By-law into a separate document to make them easier to understand and enforce.
The by-law sets standards for keeping yards and vacant land clean and orderly, with enforcement remaining complaint-driven and focused on education and voluntary compliance.
Residents can review the draft and submit feedback through the township’s engagement page before the April council meeting.
