Lake of Bays candidates set for 2026 municipal election

Sarah Roberts and Robert Lacroix are acclaimed

The field is now set for the 2026 municipal election in Lake of Bays, with nominations closing Friday afternoon.

Three people are running for mayor: Charles Cooper, Tim Withey and Matt Young.

Robert Lacroix is the only candidate for District Councillor in the Ridout-McLean Ward.  There are two candidates in the Franklin-Sinclair Ward for District, John Crowley and Rick Brooks.

The other council races include two candidates in Franklin Ward, one in Sinclair-Finlayson Ward, two in Ridout Ward and two in McLean Ward.

The Township says the candidates currently listed are uncertified. The official certified list will be published once the Clerk completes the certification process.

Voting begins October 14th, with election day October 26th.
