Most councilors will see an 11% increase
Lake of Bays Council has approved a bylaw increasing pay for township leaders ahead of the next term.
Effective November 15, 2026, the mayor’s salary remains at $55,540, while the deputy mayor’s pay rises 10 percent to $32,782 and councillors’ pay increases 11 percent to $28,253.
According to council, the adjustments bring compensation in line with the 60th percentile of comparable Muskoka-area municipalities, including Huntsville, Bracebridge, Muskoka Lakes, and Gravenhurst, ensuring township leaders are fairly remunerated for the next term.
