Police arrested the man involved for shoplifting and later for brandishing a knife
Huntsville OPP say a 47-year-old local man is facing several charges after two separate incidents in less than 24 hours.
Police say the man was first arrested after a shoplifting incident at the Freshmart in Port Sydney on September 18, then released with a court date. Hours later, officers were called to West Road in Huntsville, where the same man was allegedly brandishing a knife.
He was arrested again and is now charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and theft under $5,000.
Police say he remains in custody and there’s no concern for public safety.
