The Emergency Response & K9 units helped locate the man who fled the hospital
Ontario's police watchdog is investigating an incident involving an arrest in Huntsville.
The Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate following an interaction between a member of the public and Huntsville OPP officers on Sunday morning.
Police say an individual arrested on Gun Club Road was taken into custody and later transported to hospital after requesting medical attention.
Investigators say the person fled on foot upon arrival at the hospital but was located a short time later following a search involving the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
The individual was returned to custody and taken to hospital for treatment of injuries. The SIU is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
