The man had 67 more fish than allowed
A Toronto man has been fined $5,000 for exceeding bass limits while fishing in Algonquin Provincial Park.
Mykola Bondaruk pleaded guilty to possessing 67 bass over the legal limit during an inspection at Sec Lake in August 2025. Officers found 38 fish in his rowboat and 35 more at his campsite, well above the zone’s six-fish limit.
Bondaruk is also banned from all fishing in Ontario for one year. The case was heard by Justice of the Peace Jennifer L. Grant in Pembroke last November.
