Police say they will be patrolling trails and lakes all summer
The OPP laid 42 charges and issued 56 warnings during marine and off-road patrols over the Civic Holiday long weekend.
The OPP's Snowmobile, All-Terrain Vehicle and Vessel Enforcement Unit patrolled waterways and trails across Muskoka, including Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, Georgian Bay and Algonquin Park. Police say more than half of the charges involved alcohol-related offences and life jacket violations.
Officers also issued two seven-day driver's licence suspensions during impaired operation investigations. The OPP says enforcement efforts will continue throughout the summer.
