Donations funded the $10 Million purchase
A new MRI machine has officially landed at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, marking a major milestone for local healthcare.
The 8,000-pound machine arrived from Germany and was lowered into place at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s site this week.
It’s the result of a $10 million fundraising drive led by the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, which saw over 2,400 donations from across the region.
The MRI is expected to be up and running by July, cutting down travel time for patients and delivering thousands of scans close to home.
