Police ask parents to talk to their children about the rules of the road
The Huntsville OPP is cracking down on reports of unsafe dirt bike riding in the Port Sydney area. Police say they've received ongoing complaints about excessive speed, reckless driving, loud bikes, and riders using roads, sidewalks and private property where they're not allowed.
Officers are also warning that anyone who refuses to stop for police could face serious charges, including criminal offences for young riders in some cases.
Parents are being urged to make sure children understand the rules before heading out on off-road vehicles. Police say enforcement in the area will continue.
