The gas station attendant's quick actions prevented the fire from spreading
Bracebridge OPP are investigating after a dangerous incident at a Gravenhurst gas station left a vehicle on fire.
Police say the situation unfolded Sunday evening around 6:40 at a gas station on Muskoka Road South.
Three individuals, older teens or young adults, arrived, two of whom were pushing a black vehicle toward the gas pump and when they got close to the pump, one person began filling the vehicle. Another person in the group attempted to light the fuel on fire, as it was being dispensed, causing the vehicle to be set on fire.
A quick response from the station attendant, who shut off the pump and used a fire extinguisher, prevented the situation from escalating.
No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bracebridge OPP.
