Huntsville OPP remind riders about off-road and all-terrain vehicle safety.
With spring around the corner, the Huntsville OPP are reminding riders about off-road and all-terrain vehicle safety. Whether you're on a dirt bike, ATV, or side-by-side, police say following the law is key to a safe ride.
Officials urge riders to wear a helmet, carry registration and insurance, and obey speed limits. Off-road vehicles must be plated, insured, and operated only by licensed drivers on roadways. Riders are also reminded to stay on designated trails and never drive on private property without permission.
Police further add that impaired driving laws apply to off-road vehicles, and both the driver and owner can face charges for violations.
