The money will be used to restore the RMS Segwun and expand an exhibit at the Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre
Muskoka Parry Sound MPP Graydon Smith says his government is investing in Muskoka’s heritage and tourism through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
The first local projects supported include $830,000 to restore the iconic RMS Segwun and more than $500,000 to expand the “Love Muskoka. Sustain Muskoka” exhibit at the Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre.
Smith says these investments will help preserve Muskoka’s history while supporting the region’s economy, noting that the area was made eligible for NOHFC funding again after being removed under the previous government.
