The retired lottery enthusiast discovered his windfall while watching a hockey game and scanning his ticket using the OLG app.
Niemi says he plans to invest for retirement, undertake home renovations, and purchase a new vehicle.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kirk’s Gas in Sprucedale.
