Students risk being suspended for not updating vaccine records

Wednesday, 2 September 2026 09:22

More than 4000 students in the region need to update their records

Parents of high school students across Simcoe-Muskoka are being reminded to check their children's immunization records before the September 21st deadline.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says more than 4,000 students entering Grades 11 and 12 could be suspended from school if their records aren't updated by September 21st.

Officials say some students may already have all the required vaccines, but the health unit hasn't received their records.

Vaccination clinics will be offered at high schools this month, and families can contact the health unit for help updating records or arranging an appointment.
