The South Muskoka Memorial hospital's chiller system is undergoing repair, moving or cancelling some surgeries in Bracebridge
Surgical services at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge have been temporarily moved to Huntsville due to an issue with the hospital’s chiller system affecting CT and operating room areas.
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says elective surgeries are being rescheduled, while emergency department services in Bracebridge remain open. Some emergency surgical cases may be transferred to Huntsville or other regional hospitals if required.
Officials say they hope to restore normal operating room services in Bracebridge as early as next week once repairs are completed and safety checks are finished.
