Tips lead police to shoplifter

Monday, 15 June 2026 08:49

The man left the Bracebridge ReStore without paying for merchandise

Bracebridge OPP have laid charges after a reported theft from a local retailer earlier this month.

Police say officers were called to a Habitat for Humanity location on Muskoka Road 118 following a shoplifting incident. Tips from the public led investigators to a suspect in Port Carling.

A 41-year-old man from Clyne, Ontario is facing multiple charges, including theft under $5,000 and driving-related offences, and is set to appear in court in Bracebridge for a bail hearing.
