Weather disrupts Town of Huntsville Facilities

Wednesday, 11 March 2026 09:18

The town says public works will prioritize primary roads first. Town Hall will open at noon.

The Town of Huntsville is adjusting some services as freezing rain continues across the area.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for today, with five to ten millimetres of ice buildup expected throughout the day. Public Works crews are focusing on primary roads and sidewalks before moving to secondary routes.

Residents are being asked to avoid unnecessary travel as conditions may change.

Town Hall and the Huntsville Public Library are closed this morning but will reopen at noon, while the planning council meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. will proceed with residents encouraged to join online.

The Canada Summit Centre remains open, though some town programs could still face cancellations.
