Yuk Yuk's Tour stopping in Huntsville

Thursday, 4 June 2026 05:59

Coming to Huntsville June 27th and July 31st!

The regional comedy scene is getting a major summertime boost as Yuk Yuk’s On Tour prepares to set up shop at Canvas Brewing Co., bringing a heavyweight lineup of national headliners and festival favorites to the heart of downtown Huntsville.

The upcoming summer series represents a growing trend of major Canadian entertainment brands partnering with independent local spaces to capture the bustling cottage-country market. For Canvas Brewing Co., the collaboration transforms the craft brewery from a local watering hole into a premium community entertainment hub. The two-part series, kicking off in late June, aims to blend the relaxed, community-first atmosphere of the Muskoka region with the sharp, high-caliber talent typically reserved for dedicated urban comedy clubs.

The series launches on Thursday, June 27th, featuring a lineup stacked with television veterans and rising international acts. Headlining the inaugural night is Ian Sirota, a staple of Canadian broadcasting and stand-up comedy. Sirota’s career spans decades of work with comedy royalty, including opening spots for Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Jim Gaffigan, and Dennis Miller. A two-time Gemini Award nominee, his sharp writing and performance style have been featured heavily on networks like CTV and the Comedy Network via Comedy Inc. and Comedy Now!. Sirota also holds a unique spot in domestic pop-culture lore: his high-profile television hoax on The Jerry Springer Show was recently ranked by SiriusXM Radio as the 50th funniest moment in Canadian comedy history.

The evening will be hosted by John Mostyn, a Glasgow-born, Toronto-based comedian who has rapidly risen through the ranks of the domestic circuit. Known for his fish-out-of-water storytelling and quick-witted crowd work, Mostyn has drawn frequent comparisons to Scottish comedy legends Billy Connolly and Kevin Bridges. His 2022 debut album, Scottish C*nt, went straight to number one on the iTunes charts and was named the top Canadian comedy album of the year by industry publication The Interrobang. Rounding out the June card is Joey Harlem, a Toronto-born comic known for his raw, edgy social commentary. A veteran of the national festival circuit and a JFL42 alumnus, Harlem is a familiar face on Canadian television screens, having anchored numerous national commercial campaigns.

The momentum carries into mid-summer with a second showcase scheduled for Thursday, July 31st, featuring a distinctly different blend of storytelling and social satire. Award-winning comedian and author Martha Chaves takes the headlining slot. A prominent voice in Canadian media, Chaves was named one of North America's Ten Most Influential Hispanic Canadians. She is a frequent fixture on the national broadcaster, appearing regularly on CBC Radio’s The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud, as well as CBC Television’s topical panel show Because News. With two national comedy specials and a hit streaming album, Chunky Salsa, Chaves brings a highly polished, fiercely intelligent perspective to the Huntsville stage.

Emceeing the July event is Gilson Lubin, a Canadian Comedy Award winner and former MTV Canada host. Lubin’s versatile, narrative-driven style has earned him international credits, including appearances on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, and Kevin Hart’s LOL Network.

For independent venues in cottage country, securing a partnership with an established brand like Yuk Yuk’s On Tour offers a distinct competitive edge during the crucial summer tourism influx. It provides a reliable draw for seasonal visitors while offering year-round residents access to top-tier touring acts without the necessity of traveling to major urban centers. By pairing premium, club-ready stand-up sets with locally produced craft beer, the collaboration highlights the shifting expectations of the Muskoka nightlife scene—proving that local entertainment can be both distinctly laid-back and exceptionally sharp. Tickets and showtime details for both the June 27th and July 31st showcases are available directly through Canvas Brewing Co.
