Founded, owned and operated by Rob & Karla Engman and co-founded with Sam Corbeil, Sawdust City Brewing Company first began brewing beer at the Niagara College Teaching Brewery on Halloween 2011. During that time, recipes and brands were developed and perfected. In July 2013, the former Canadian Tire building in Gravenhurst was purchased and just one year later, in July 2014, the first official beer brewed at Sawdust City Brewing Company was packaged out of the brand-new tanks. Proud to call Gravenhurst home, ‘Sawdust City’ was the nickname of the town in the days when mills and lumberyards lined the shores of Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst.
In addition to our year-round favourites, we craft exceptional seasonal releases, small-batch brews, barrel-aged specialties, and bold experimental beers. Every one of our beers is all-natural and brewed with only the finest ingredients. While we don’t take ourselves too seriously—our playful labels say it all—we are serious about quality. And that’s something you’ll taste in every sip.
At Sawdust City Brewing Co., we champion diversity not just out of principle, but because it brings fresh perspectives, strengthens our team, and makes us a better, more vibrant company.
