Caswell says financial issues are a key plank in his campaign
A familiar name in Huntsville is stepping into municipal politics.
Lifelong resident and local business owner Dan Caswell officially filed to run for Mayor yesterday, submitting his nomination on Friday, the opening day of the campaign period. Caswell says he welcomes a competitive race and is eager to hear directly from residents about the issues that matter most.
He points to the town’s financial direction as a key priority, along with maintaining strong core services like fire, emergency response and policing. Caswell also says community safety, roads, trails and access to the waterfront need renewed attention, and believes Huntsville needs a stronger voice at the District level.
Caswell comes from a family with deep roots in the community, including his mother, Leslie Caswell, who served three terms on council. He’s worked in construction, co-owned a long-standing insurance brokerage, and has been involved in local committees, minor sports and economic development.
Caswell says his focus will be on steady, accountable leadership as Huntsville continues to grow.
