Star-Studded lineup announced to celebrate Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame

A powerhouse roster will gather at Toronto’s iconic venue on Sept. 26 to honor an extraordinary slate of inductees

The sound of Canadian music is getting its ultimate victory lap this fall.

When the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) steps into the historic spotlight at Toronto’s Massey Hall on September 26, 2026, it won't just be an evening of trophies and speeches—it will be a full-scale celebration of anthems that have soundtracked generations. The organization unveiled a stellar lineup of performers, hosts, and inductors for its 2026 ceremony, presented by Amazon Music, bringing together international heavyweights and home-grown icons to pay homage to the country's finest tunesmiths.

Taking the stage to deliver live tributes will be soulful beltress Amanda Marshall, alternative pioneer City and Colour (Dallas Green), rock staples Our Lady Peace, Finneas, and Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy. Co-hosted by broadcast legend George Stroumboulopoulos and pop star Marie-Mai, the event promises never-before-seen collaborations and fresh takes on timeless hits.

At the heart of the night are four extraordinary inductees whose bodies of work did not follow a template, but rather defined one:

Leading the class of 2026 is The Tragically Hip. Kingston's iconic sons—Rob Baker, Johnny Fay, Paul Langlois, Gord Sinclair, and the late Gord Downie—helped define the spirit of a nation. Their catalog remains deeply woven into the country's cultural identity, leaving listeners feeling "Ahead By A Century" while singing along to timeless gems like "Bobcaygeon". Though it remains bittersweet without their beloved frontman standing beside them, the surviving bandmates expressed immense gratitude for joining the sacred hall.

Joining them is indie-pop auteur Leslie Feist. The four-time Grammy nominee and 14-time Juno Award winner captured global imagination when her breakout hit "1234" catapulted her to multi-platinum fame. Known for her singular writing voice, Feist has consistently proven that her artistic vision is "So Sorry" to no one, carving out an acclaimed solo career alongside her legendary tenure with Broken Social Scene.

Arena rock royalty will also take their rightful place, as Mike Reno and Paul Dean of Loverboy are recognized for their unstoppable songwriting partnership. Responsible for massive radio staples that had the entire world "Working for the Weekend" and urging fans to "Turn Me Loose," Reno and Dean proved that Canadian rock could dominate global charts with pure, irresistible hooks.

Rounding out the class is Roch Voisine, one of Canada's most successful bilingual artists. Spanning four decades and 25 albums, Voisine bridged language gaps and captured hearts around the globe with massive hits like "Hélène" and "Darlin'," proving that incredible songwriting transcends boundaries.

"The songwriters we’re honoring this year represent the absolute gold standard of Canadian music," said Nick Fedor, Executive Director of the CSHF. "They’ve written the soundtrack to our lives—crafting songs that crossed borders, stood the test of time, and became woven into our collective DNA."

For music fans unable to secure a seat at Massey Hall, the ceremony will be livestreamed globally via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. Following the event, the inductees' legacies will be permanently enshrined at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre in Calgary.
