- May 1, 2026: Nomination and registration period begins.
- August 21, 2026 (2:00 PM): Deadline for candidates to file or withdraw nominations.
- August 24, 2026: Official certification of candidates.
- October 26, 2026: ELECTION DAY. Polling stations open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- November 15, 2026: New term of office begins.

Voter Information
Who can vote?
You are eligible to vote in a municipal election if you are:
- A Canadian citizen.
- At least 18 years old on Election Day.
- A resident of the municipality, or the owner/tenant of land there (or their spouse).
How to Vote:
Many municipalities in the Muskoka and Almaguin regions utilize Internet and Telephone Voting to make the process more accessible for seasonal and permanent residents alike. Check your specific municipality's page for your "Voter Information Letter," which will contain your unique PIN.

Thinking of Running?
Serving on Council is a significant commitment and a unique opportunity to lead.
- Qualifications: You must be a qualified elector in the municipality.
- Nominations: Must be filed in person with the Clerk and include the required filing fee ($200 for Head of Council, $100 for all other offices).
- Endorsements: Candidates in many municipalities require 25 signatures of support from eligible electors.
